Cuentos de mi abuela: Illustrated book
Creator and Project managerCuentos de mi abuela is an illustrated compilation of traditional stories that evoke the grace and occurrence of the people from San Basilio de Palenque, recovered from the intimate memory of its writer Gleidis Salgado. The stories are accompanied by illustrations that seek to represent the fantasy of each story, from the magical and dreamy gaze of the artist Maïlys Cart-Lamy.
In rediscovering and illustrating the stories that grandmothers recited, this project bets on the vindication and amplification of the oral tradition of a people that fights to preserve its identity. This book is a tribute to the richness and culture of Palenque, enshrined and preserved in a strong and unwavering oral tradition.
